Crysis is not coming to 360 (yet)

Rumors about Crysis coming to the Xbox 360 were propagated by an episode of the 1UP show last week, but fansite inCrysis got the official word from Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli.

We hope we aren't disappointing anyone, but contrary to any rumours that may be in circulation, neither Crytek nor any third parties are currently engaged in developing Crysis for console platforms.

While we are gratified by the level of interest shown in Crysis by console owners and fans, and are of course interested in next generation consoles for potential future developments, it is the company's policy not to discuss future plans before the fact.

New Ghostbusters game a reality?

This footage of what looks like new Ghostbusters game appeared on YouTube to great skepticism. But European developer ZootFly told Next Generation that the video footage comes from prototype that the company has been working on. ZootFly uploaded the video to see what the public reaction be, and according to one developer, they are "very happy with the overwhelmingly positive response."

Microsoft says Zephyr was "experimentation"

We posted a story about the possibility of Microsoft releasing an updated Xbox 360 sporting an HDMI port. During an interview with Gamespot UK, Microsoft game group general manager Chris Satchell said, "At the moment, everything you might have seen is just looking at our experimentation back in Redmond, not really a product that we're thinking about announcing."

Experimentation or not, an Xbox 360 with an HDMI port is cool. And it would be one more thing Microsoft could do match the PlayStation 3. But for now, this is just a group of highly skilled engineers tinkering around.

New Xbox 360 hardware "Zephyr" with HDMI port

This would probably be an appropriate time to say something like "already!?" It all started when Engadget got their hands on a leaked picture of an Xbox 360 sporting an HDMI port. As most HD buffs know, HDMI is the holy grail of digital video output. The high-end PS3 unit has one, but the lower-end PS3 and Xbox 360 do not. The updated hardware has been given the codename "Zephyr" and appears to include a new scaler chip that produces that higher resolution images.
