Robot controlled by Wiimote will kill you

The year is 2032 and the cyber soliders of the future are armed with... wiimotes? If those remotes control massive sword wielding robot arms than it's a possibility.

Wii Laptop

Wii is clearly the smallest of the three competing consoles, so if you're bent on turning one into a laptop, picking the Wii is the smartest move. Engadget's Ben Heckendorn created this impressive modification.

The portable features a 16:9 display and a built-in sensor bar. And nothing is sacrificed because of its size. You'll find that it is complete with a GameCube controller port and a slot for SD cards.

Next week, Engadget will begin a multi-part guide for building your own. Until then, they have more images and a video of the unit in action.

Multiplayer Oblivion Mod

Thanks to a computer science major at Charles Stuart University, Oblivion fans who play on the PC can engage in a basic form of multiplayer within the game. Almost two months in the making, the MultiTES4 mod is a prime example of the good that comes from a mod-able game. The functionality is currently limited, allowing just two players to frolic around Cyrodiil together. But the mod's creator, who is known as _FERRET, plans to add support for up to eight simultaneous players and basic modes like deathmatch and capture the flag. The site mentions that time synchronisation and quest sharing are not supported and there is no word about plans for those features. But how cool that be?

Mario Kart mod for the Source engine in development

A group of modders is working to create a tribute to one of the greatest games on the Nintendo 64. Mario Kart Source aims to contain the characters, models, and tracks of the Nintendo 64 version, but with updated Half-Life 2 graphics. Unfortunately, it is still in the very early stages of development.
