Two arrested for PS3 launch shooting

Two men were arrested today for shooting twenty-one year old Michael Penkala, who was waiting to buy the PlayStation 3 at a Connecticut Wal-mart. William J. Robertson, 20, and Andrew Patnaude, 17, are being charged with robbery and attempted murder according to the Associated Press.

After spending eight days in the hospital, Penkala went home with four new consoles, three of which he bought. The forth was a gift from Wal-mart for being shot at one of their stores. Penkela says he has no regrets about the incident.

Penkala originally planned to buy four consoles to resell. To avoid the one per customer limit, he paid three friends $75 each to stand behind him. His plan was foiled when two gunman approached the crowd and demanded that he empty his pockets. Penkala was holding $2,600 in cash and refused to comply. The robbers responded by beating him in the face with the butt of a gun. Penkala continued to resist and yelled, "get the hell out of here. I called 911!" The suspects disappeared into the nearby woods after shooting Penkala's chest with a sawed off shotgun.
