Possible image of the 'new' Origami

[image:533 align=left size=medium]You know the portable media thingy that's got just about everybody wondering what it is? Will it be used as a secondary screen for the Xbox 360? Will it play Halo 2 all by itself? Hopefully, we'll all know for sure in a few days. But if you just can't wait, feast your eyes on this image. Pictured is what could be the real Origami. Pictured is what could be the fake Origami. Who knows. It resembles the picture we posted earlier, so we'd like to think we have the real thing.

This image was posted on Origami Portal along with this note:

This is the real deal folks. Anyone saying fake hold on and let me explain; This is image is indeed a photochop, but its a photochop in the same way that all the 360 hardware is photochop’d the camera and headset for the 360 high res press photos were not photographs of the hardware, they were digital renderings made in some 3D software, this is the same thing. So while the headset for the 360 ended up looking EXACTLY THE SAME it was actually a 3D rendering of the real hardware and not a photograph. Let me tell you that this origami is the same, thats why a lot of people are crying fake because in its own way it actually is fake image but a real representation of the hardware.

[UPDATE: Origami Portal has stopped responding. It may be related to a large increase in traffic that their server experienced after the announcement. Or maybe someone tripped on a cord.]

Anybody remember the sega GameGear? this bears WAY too much of a striking resemblance for me. Plus, it's huge, and that would not be cool as a portable gaiming device. who knows, it could turn out to be really cool.

It's not a portable gaming device. It's more like a cross between a tablet PC and a PDA. It will probably cost more than the Xbox 360, so that alone says that it's not really geared for the everyday gamer. Playing games was one possible feature, but I think that this would be a really cool thing to have in place of a laptop if you have a desktop as your main PC.

Enjoy the Parade...

Yeh it looks as though it will be an uber pocket PC device, rather than a gaming device, plus it lacks the stylish PSP aura. W/e we will probably be bald and in our 40s when it comes out and so it may peak our interest. I don't know if I had more money these things would get my blood flowing, but I havent really gotten into this handheld device-gaming industry beyond gameboy, and I already have a PDA.
